Cinnamon-Nut Swirl Cake

Filed under: Recipes — aliceaudrey @ 12:01 am

Raven, don’t look.  This one starts with a box.

1 pkg white cake mix
1/3 c. sugar
1 tsp cocoa
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 350 deg.  Grease and flour cake pan.  Prepare cake mix as directed.  Pour 1/2 of mix into pan, sprinkle with sugar mixture, then pour remaining cake batter into pan.  Bake 45 – 50 minutes.  Cool 10 minutes.  Drizzle with mixture of 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons milk.

  1. I’m planning to bake off a box of Jiffy cornbread mix–because a Southern friend told me I was an idiot and that’s what she uses too LOL.

  2. That’s ironic. I always do cornbread from scratch. :D

  5. Well, I did try it with cornmeal, but it didn’t turn out very well.
