Top of the World

I am having so much fun!  I got into the invite option on FanLit, and spent part of yesterday and all of today talking people into letting me invite them to rank my entries, and getting invites from them.

I’m a lot nicer to people who invite me.  I am much more likely to read them all the way through.  I don’t skip at all from an invite.  I leave comments on invites where I don’t leave any without.  And the ranks I give are likely to be closer to what I think with no reference to how low everyone’s averages tend to be.

Invites bring out the good in me, and I love the interaction.

Yep.  Hanging out in the forum exchanging email addresses and permission to invite was a real good idea.

But now I have to hustle over there and do some ranking.  Gotta go!

  1. LOL I am the same with invites. I generally don’t like giving out anything less than a 3 with invites. But I still wonder if that’s the best way to do it, since the system does take into account the number of story views as opposed to straight invitation.

  2. I think you’re nicer with scores than I am. At least I don’t do any zero bashing!

  3. Notice how I said “generally”. I have given out 2 and 2.5’s before on invites. But no lower than that.

  4. I don’t go any lower than 2 on an invite either. And there are some I would have given a 1.5 or maybe even a 1 otherwise. I just hate to give anything above a 2.5 to someone whose entry I don’t want to have to read because the writing is off.

But the thing is I have become and extremely picky reader in the last few years. There are plenty of published books that I never get past page 5. So maybe I’m not being entirely fair.
