Alice’s Restaurant

Hi! I’m Home

I really, really wanted to say “Hi from Belize” but I’m not surprised it didn’t work out.  Not that I couldn’t find any Internet access, but that I never got a chance to use it.

At The Maya Breeze Inn I ran out of time while trying to get connected and had to give up.  In Belmopan I couldn’t get my mother to stop at the “Internet Cafe” and merely stared wistfully at it as we went past.  Several times.  In Belize City everything closed down for Easter, including the Internet, fax, and telephone access store around the corner.

Get the feeling this trip was not under my control?  That’s putting it mildly.  But I still had a lot of fun.

  2. Yep, we zipped right by the Internet Cafe. However Alice forgot to mention that I offered the car keys for any time she wanted to drive the 5 miles of dirt roads back to it while the rest of us played.

  4. Oh sure, Mom. Drive back over those obnoxious road with a sevier sunburn on my butt after an exhausting day in the faint hope they would still be open. Real likely.

  5. Ah my humble obedient daughter, my apologies for not sitting in a hot car with rowdy grandchildren while you tried to get a computer in the hole in the wall Internet Cafe to work. Guess I could have turned them loose to run around the 5-house village.

  6. Why do you think I kept suggesting a restaurant? Yeah, yeah. I didn’t see a good one either.

  7. LOL Alice, don’t argue with your mom – don’t you know that they are always right? We missed you but now you have so much more time to tell us about everything; it should keep you busy for awhile!
