Belize Still On. I Hope.

Filed under: Day to Day Life — aliceaudrey @ 8:21 pm

Ok.  Cross our fingers and hope nobody gets any sicker and it looks like we can still all go.  I hope.  It mostly depends on things like my cyst, my mothe’rs hip replacement, and my son’s strep throat.  But at least we were all able to get our shots after all.  For a while we weren’t so sure.  We are cutting the timing a bit close.

So, for anyone I haven’t already told, I’m not going to be very active here the first week of April.  But I’ll have interesting travel stuff to talk about and maybe some pictures of Belize when I get back.

Meanwhile, I’m hoping I can get back to a more interesting blog when I’m not driving 40 miles to get shots or arranging emergency visits to the pediatrician.

  4. Still the first week of April, Bev. Still no sign of Scarlet Fever rash. Having some problems with the malaria prescription, but otherwise everything is looking good.

  5. How long are you going to be in Belize?

We traveled to Guatemala late in 2004 and early 2005 (right across the way from Belize) and didn’t get any shots, etc. But then we stayed in Guatemala City (and visited Antiqua) for the most part and didn’t drink the water.

  8. We don’t intend to drink the water, but I’ve been leery of bottled water ever since I saw a busboy at the hotel I was staying in refill them from a tap in the back of the hotel in Puerto Valletta.

We are going all over the place, from a couple days on the beech to a zipline in the jungle canopy to tubing an underground river. All without benefit of a tour guide.

We need all the shots we can get.

The trip is a week long. I’ll try to keep in touch when I can, but no guarantees.
