12 Step Program for FanLitters.

Filed under: FanLit — aliceaudrey @ 2:31 pm

Obviously we need it.  Why not set it up here?

I’ll go first.  I’m Alice Audrey, and I am addicted to FanLit.  My last post on the FanLit board was a couple of minutes ago, and I fear the next will be right after I post here.  I know the addiction has had a terrible impact on my life, from the introduction of Pizza and TV Dinners into my children’s diets to the complete hault of work on my WIP.  I resolve to get a life, even before FanLit is over.

Yeh, sure.  Right after this weekend.

  1. I didn’t play this week and have no plans to play again–but I still haunt that forum like it’s crack.

    Help!

  2. We had lives before FanLit swallowed us whole, didn’t we? Didn’t we?! I say it’s time to take back those lives! With a little FanLit on the side. *grin*

  3. TessaD suggested someone make a Yahoo group for FanLiters after this event is over. Otherwise, I see a void in our lives… LOL What do you think? Should we start one (already)?

  4. Done! It’s here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/fanlit

    Or via email:

    fanlit@yahoogroups.com

So much for my 12 step program.

  6. Oops! That was my spare WordPress account. Sorry about that. I requested earlier tonight that my FanLit account be deleted, so I’m gone! 🙂

  7. You mean I can’t invite you to my next entries? Darn. Well I was planning on bagging the invite thing anyway. It doesn’t seem to make that much difference.

So Lynne, can I tempt you over to the Yahoo FanLit? You get to keep all your copyrights and don’t have to stick to Regency.

  8. Hmm. An interesting thought. I will certainly miss some of the people from FanLit. I’ll let you know. 🙂

I’d still love to read your stories, Alice, so if you’re up for it, please feel free to email them to me.

  10. If you want me to give things a quick read-through, I’ll be glad to, Alice.

  11. Well, here we all are, bemoaning how fanlit has taken over our lives and it’s damn well true. It woul dhave been great if they’d let us have a week between subs to have time with family and for work and to sleep. They could ahev held the winning chapter back, surely? Someone I’ve contacted from the fanlit site, who is agenuine published author, has said competitons are the way to get recognised and that’s how she first got published. She won a chapter competition and some one out there was watching….
It’s been good to be in touch with others trying to get their foot in the door.
REad, oh please read, The Big PIcture, by Douglas Kennedy. He’s a US writer and the book is entertaining but has an incredible message. 😀 Yours from the UK – Sally

  12. Sheesh – what a load of typos in my first post! Teach me to edit before I press the go button!

  13. Hi Alice… are you still doing FanLit? I’ve only been voting this round, and since it’s already Sunday night… Well, you get the idea.

  14. Hi Sally. You found my blog! Nice to see you. I haven’t read The Big Picture, but it sounds familiar. I’ll try to check it out when I have a little more time.

Cat, I did one entry, but I don’t know if I’ll do more than that. I’d like to, but time is running out. I’ll send you an invite if I come up with anything good.
